The Central Computing and Network Facilities (CCNF) section of National Institute of Technology Manipur serves as the central technological backbone of the Institute by providing robust computing infrastructure, secure network connectivity, digital services, and IT-enabled support for academic, research, administrative, and outreach activities. The section plays a vital role in ensuring seamless digital operations across the Institute and continuously works towards strengthening the technological ecosystem in line with modern institutional requirements and national standards.

CCNF is responsible for the planning, deployment, operation, maintenance, and upgradation of the Institute’s computing and networking infrastructure. The section manages internet connectivity, campus-wide wired and wireless networks, server infrastructure, institutional websites, cybersecurity measures, digital communication systems, and various online platforms used for teaching, administration, and research activities. The section also provides technical assistance and support to various departments, centres, hostels, offices, laboratories, and institutional events.

In addition to infrastructure management, CCNF actively contributes towards the Institute’s digital transformation initiatives by facilitating implementation of e-Governance services, cloud-based solutions, online platforms, cybersecurity practices, digital record management, and web-enabled administrative processes. The section continuously strives to improve the reliability, security, accessibility, and scalability of IT services for students, faculty members, officers, staff, and stakeholders.

A significant responsibility of CCNF also includes the management and maintenance of the Institute’s official digital presence. The section oversees the development, hosting, maintenance, updating, and security of the official Institute website and associated web services. Furthermore, CCNF manages and coordinates the Institute’s official social media handles and digital communication platforms to ensure timely dissemination of official announcements, achievements, academic activities, student events, research highlights, notices, outreach initiatives, and institutional updates. Through responsible digital engagement and content management, the section contributes towards enhancing the visibility, transparency, and outreach of the Institute at regional, national, and international levels.

The section also plays an important role in ensuring information security and safe digital practices across the campus by implementing cybersecurity measures such as firewall management, server monitoring, access control, endpoint protection, secure network configuration, and vulnerability mitigation mechanisms. CCNF continuously works towards strengthening cyber resilience and ensuring uninterrupted digital services for the Institute community.
